"I was eight years old when I began taking ballet, tap, and acrobatics from Anna Marie. She was young—it was the early 1950s—but she trained me well. When I was sixteen, I made my professional debut as a classical ballet dancer in a command performance for Prince Rainier and Princess Grace in Monte Carlo. I danced across Europe, was première danseuse of the Bordeaux Opera Ballet, and danced with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet under the direction of Dame Alicia Markova. My Broadway shows include “Hello, Dolly!,” “Meet Me in St. Louis,” and the record-breaking performance of “A Chorus Line.” Anna Marie gave me a life-long passion for dance, and I still dance every day for the joy of dance."

My name is Amelia and I graduated from the Anna Marie Dance Studio in 2008. After high school, I was a member of The Young Americans, a performing arts outreach group based in California. I went on to pursue my bachelors degree in psychology from Millersville University, where I was member and eventually president of the competitive Collegiate Dance Team. I have continued to be involved with the Anna Marie Dance studio as a faculty member as well as teaching at other local studios. The studio and the faculty helped shape who I was as a teenager and now that I have my only family, Miss Anna Marie (who has Become Mom-Mom Anna to my Son) is still a huge part of my life.
